S-612Active Oxygen Disinfectant is a new type of chlorine-free disinfectant designed specifically for drinking pure water.
Due to elevated iron levels in groundwater and industrial water, typically present as ferrous iron [Fe2+], these waters often exhibit discoloration and odors, reduce the exchange capacity of ion exchange resins, and over time, lead to iron scale formation. S-612 effectively oxidizes manganese dioxide (MnO2) and ferrous iron [Fe2+] in manganese sand filter media into ferric iron [Fe3+] and precipitates Fe(OH)3, achieving regeneration.
Formulated with the latest international technology using peroxygen compound salts, S-612, when dissolved in water, generates various high-energy, highly reactive free radicals and oxygen derivatives.
These radicals can disrupt microbial cell membranes, causing leakage of cellular contents and impairing energy-dependent membrane transport systems. Additionally, they can bind with metal ions such as calcium and iron in nucleic acids, generating hydroxyl radicals (•OH) that break phosphodiester bonds in DNA and have similar destructive effects on RNA.
As a water treatment disinfectant, S-612 exhibits strong oxidative capabilities, effectively killing microorganisms in water and removing organic compounds from wastewater.
