RO Membrane Cleaner PHS-104
-
PHS-104 RO membrane cleaner is primarily composed of weak organic acids, designed specifically to remove iron oxide deposits from reverse osmosis membranes. It also effectively removes mild calcium carbonate scale.
Before using this weak acid RO membrane cleaner, it's essential to ensure that all organic materials in the membrane tubes have been removed.
Product Characteristics-
Liquid form, convenient for both use and storage
-
High concentration of active ingredients
-
Effective in removing iron oxide deposits and mild calcium carbonate scale
-
Weak acid organic acids that do not damage membrane tubes
Cleaning Procedure-
Use product water for initial low-pressure flushing to remove concentrated water and contaminants during equipment operation.
-
Dilute PHS-104 with chlorine-free reverse osmosis product water to prepare a 4% w/w solution. The cleaning solution should be prepared at a temperature of approximately 20-30°C. Consult membrane and system manufacturers as needed to determine the most suitable cleaning pH value and temperature.
-
During the initial cleaning phase, use the first 20% of the cleaning solution to flush the membrane tubes and then discharge it. Do not recirculate it into the RO cleaning tank, and also discharge water expelled from the system.
-
Segmental cleaning is recommended during the cleaning process. The duration of cleaning depends on the extent of iron oxide fouling and scaling on the membrane tubes. Typically, cleaning takes 2 to 3 hours. It is suggested to cycle and soak every 15 minutes.
-
If the color of the cleaning solution turns red/brown during cleaning, it indicates that the cleaning agent has been depleted. Please replace the cleaning solution.
-
After completing the cleaning steps, flush the membrane tubes with product water at low pressure to remove any residual chemicals. This can be confirmed by monitoring the pH values of the inlet and outlet water; cleaning is complete when they match. Before putting the system online, discharge water from the sampling stage for the first 5 to 20 minutes or longer to ensure no residual cleaning agent remains in the sample water.
